More About Me

Joe Hayden, Founder, simpler.realestate

Hi—I'm Joe. I’m a Louisville-area native and the Principal Broker for our Kentucky office. My goal is simple: help people make smart real estate moves with clear guidance, calm execution, and a people-first approach.

Rooted here

I grew up in and around Louisville, with family ties to Louisville, Bardstown, and the surrounding communities going back generations. I attended schools in Jefferson and Oldham Counties and later studied at the University of Kentucky. I’m married to Anne Hayden (also a real estate professional), and we share our lives with Scarlette and Hilary.

My path to real estate

Before real estate, I spent seven years in Nashville as a recording engineer, working on over 200 albums. That work taught me how to listen closely, manage details, and deliver results under pressure. Later, I pursued aviation—earning my Commercial Pilot’s License, Airline Transport Pilot certificate, and flight instructor certificates (CFI, CFII, and MEI). Both careers reinforced what matters most in real estate: preparation, clear communication, and steady decision-making.

Why I love this work

Real estate is personal. It’s where life happens—jobs change, families grow, priorities shift, and home becomes the anchor. I love helping people align the practical details (price, terms, timelines) with what matters most to them.

Experience + leadership

Prior to my role as Principal Broker, I led the Joe Hayden Real Estate Team, and together we closed in excess of $400 million in sales volume. Today, I’m focused on building a company that is simple, service-driven, and built for long-term relationships—not just transactions.
